Frequently Asked Questions
What is InsureID?
InsureID, powered by Okta, provides a secure way to connect people with the technology they need. It allows users to log in once, granting clients, partners, and customers seamless and secure access to the necessary applications and tools.
Why do some apps remain signed in?
Logging out of InsureID doesn’t log you out of individual applications. You need to sign out of each app manually to end all sessions.
Why don't I get prompted for MFA every time I sign in?
Most InsureId apps use adaptive MFA to determine prompting you if the user exhibits abnormal browsing behavior such as a new browser, device, or location.
Which MFA factors does InsureID support?
- SMS authentication
- Google Authenticator
- Okta Verify
- Voice Call
What is InsureID SSO?
Single Sign-On (SSO) allows you to access all your applications with a single login through the InsureID Dashboard.
How does SSO secure my credentials?
InsureID protects your credentials with encryption and verification processes, ensuring secure data storage and authenticated communications.
I'm stuck on the Enrolling Device screen
If the enrollment process gets stuck, reset your MFA, uninstall InsureID Verify, and reinstall it before setting up again.
Do I need to set up MFA when I get a new phone?
You must reset and reconfigure your MFA when switching to a new phone.
Can I register two devices for MFA?
You may register multiple Okta Verify devices and biometrics for MFA. It's recommended you use multiple MFA devices to swap an MFA device, such as a new phone, without calling support.
Is SSO mandatory?
Yes, SSO is required to access all integrated applications through InsureID.
How do I find my username and password?
- Username: Your email address, or your network id
- Forgot Password: If you forget your password, click Need help signing in? on the login page and follow the instructions.
What is Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)?
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security by requiring more than just a password to verify your identity. This additional step protects your account by making it much harder for hackers to gather all the information needed to impersonate you.
What is a security factor?
A security factor in MFA refers to a method used to verify your identity. The most basic factor is your password, which serves as the primary authentication method. Our organization offers the following factors:
- An app on your phone generating a code (e.g., Okta Verify or Google Authenticator)
- SMS
- Voicecall
These extra factors strengthen your account's security.
How does InsureID keep MFA factors secure?
InsureID ensures the security of user credentials with the following advanced encryption methods:
- Encryption with dual keys: User data and encryption keys are stored in separate databases.
- Multiple encryption layers: Keys are encrypted in three different ways.
- Strict access control: No individual at InsureID can access the encrypted master key.
- Audit tracking: An audit trail is maintained to document key management activities.
Can I turn off MFA?
No, MFA is required for all applications connected through InsureID.
